Early-stage projects originated by Planet2050 and its partners, able to reduce or permanently remove CO₂ from the atmosphere
How their impact, risks and performance is assessed ex-ante, meaning before the project is fully financed and live
Financing options integrating the future sale of carbon credit (forward credit), as well as equity or debt financing options to accelerate the project’s development and impacts.

Without these fundamentals, traditional capital providers hesitate-even if the project has strong long-term potential. At the same time, carbon assets represent an emerging asset class that is not designed for conventional financing models alone. Our Solution: Structured Project Due Diligence
For this reason, we have launched the Planet2050 Hub in its Beta version, thereby implementing our first strategic pillar: Project Due Diligence. The Hub transforms project financing from a hard-to-assess risk into a quantifiable investment opportunity. The platform was developed and already tested in real-world use as part of our first Request for Proposal (RFP) for Carbon Removal projects.
How the Review Process Works in the Planet2050 Hub
Deep Project Review: In the multiphase review process, we capture over 250 structured data points per project-from technology and location to financing and scaling assumptions.
Scientifically Founded Criteria: We work with specially developed Due Diligence questionnaires for six durable Carbon Removal pathways:
Biochar
BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage)
Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW)
Mineralization
Carbonated Materials
Biomass Burial
All criteria are based on current scientific knowledge and recognized methodologies.
Independent Expert Evaluations: Internal analyses are supplemented by external evaluations from science, technology, and finance experts. This results in a well-founded and verifiable overall assessment.
Data-Informed Decisions: The Hub uses AI-supported analyses, automated project summaries, and initial integrations with relevant registries and digital MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) systems.
